Privacy, in brief
Surveillance Gorilla is designed as an analysis assistant, not a permanent case-management archive. We use account controls and security measures to protect information. Certain analysis records have expiry settings, while material deliberately saved to your reference library and records needed to run the service may be retained as described below. Please use anonymised information wherever possible and only submit material you are authorised to share.
Who we are

Information we handle
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
Account and profile details: your email address, account identifier, display name, optional profile image and account preferences. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.
Analysis material: text, alert narratives, screenshots, images, reference documents, links and supporting information you choose to provide; together with analyses, suggested findings and reports generated from that material.
Service and subscription details: plan and entitlement information, usage allowances, subscription events and information needed to administer access and prevent abuse.
Website and support enquiries: information you provide in a waitlist or contact form, such as your name, email address and message.
Technical information: essential session and preference information, service events, security signals and diagnostic information that may include device or connection data.
How we use information
We use this information to provide the app and website, authenticate accounts, perform AI-assisted analysis, deliver saved references and results, manage subscriptions and allowances, respond to enquiries, secure our systems and meet applicable legal requirements.
Depending on the purpose, processing may be necessary to provide our service or perform a contract, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service operation, comply with legal duties, or rely on consent where required. You can contact us about the basis applicable to a particular use.
AI processing and service providers
To generate analyses and suggestions, relevant user-supplied material is transmitted through the application’s backend to Google Gemini. Some assistance features can process text while it is being entered, not only when a completed report is requested. Do not enter restricted information unless you are authorised to submit it.
We also use service providers for relevant functions, including Google Firebase for authentication and application storage, RevenueCat and applicable app stores for subscription administration, and services supporting website hosting and contact-email delivery. Optional device dictation may use your device or browser’s speech service. These providers process information for their respective service functions, subject to applicable arrangements.
Storage and deletion
Surveillance Gorilla is not intended to keep a permanent archive of surveillance cases. Some generated analysis and service records are stored to provide functionality and assigned expiry settings. Reference documents, images or links you deliberately save can remain associated with your account until you remove them. Removing a saved reference does not recall content already included in previous analyses or processed by another provider.
Account, subscription, support, security and administrative records are retained as necessary for their respective purposes and applicable legal duties. Backup copies and third-party records may follow separate deletion cycles; closing the app does not instantly erase all information.
Security
We use account authentication, access controls, restricted backend access and secure communication methods to help protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your login credentials and avoid submitting material that should not be processed by an external AI service.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. International processing is subject to applicable data-protection requirements. You can contact us for more information about relevant service providers and transfer arrangements.
Your choices and rights
You can manage certain account information and remove saved reference materials through available app controls. You may contact us to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent; withdrawal does not undo processing already completed.
To request account deletion or ask a privacy question, contact hello@surveillancegorilla.com. Deleting an account is separate from cancelling any subscription purchased through Apple or Google; cancel recurring billing directly through the applicable store.
Website storage and cookies
Our website and app may use cookies or local storage needed for sign-in, preferences and essential functionality. Hosting and service providers may also process technical information needed to operate and protect their services. Where optional technologies require consent, the applicable consent choices will be provided.
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, data practices or applicable requirements.
